That “New Paw” Joy
Is that a paw in my face? Oh no, no worries, it’s 4am.
I was one of those women who was a “cat lady”. I loved having cats – what could be better? Low maintenance, calm creatures, bathroom breaks in a box…Easy. However, I married a man who loves dogs. Now don’t get me wrong, I loved looking at dogs. I loved imagining puppy breath on my face as I stroked soft fur. I loved the thought of a little one to sit at my feet while I typed!
So we got one, a sweet chocolate lab puppy from a local breeder about an hour from the house. And she slept, and it was great. Fast forward a few months, and buckle your seat belts buttercup, because she is crazy and she loves car rides (especially when she gets in my lap and I can barely move the steering wheel and pray we don’t die).
Let me rant, a new fur-mommy has to, or she will explode, right?
Here is what drives me nuts: Paws in my face at 4 am (even though I swore up and down I would never let her sleep in the bed), went out to pee and five seconds later realizes it’s poop time,
and those expensive new toys and beds – E-A-T-E-N.
Oh sweetheart, you’re so lucky you’re the cutest thing I have ever seen.
